A 34-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder after a man and a four-month-old girl were stabbed on Wednesday.
Toronto police were called to the lobby of a building on Sherway Gardens Road, near The West Mall and Evans Avenue, just before 8:50 a.m.
It was reported that the man, woman and baby were in an apartment before the incident, having an argument.
The woman allegedly made threats while holding a knife and then injured both the man and the baby.
Police said the man fled the apartment with the baby to seek help.
Police on Wednesday said that both the man and the the baby were stabbed. The baby girl has critical injuries that police say are related to the assault that happened before the stabbing.
“Indications were the baby was assaulted in another way as well,” Const. David Hopkinson said, but did not say what the injuries were.
The man’s injuries are serious but not life-threatening.
The woman was also taken to hospital but her injuries are not life-threatening.
Along with attempted murder, the woman has been charged with assault with a weapon, two counts of uttering death threats and assault causing bodily harm.
Her name has not been released.
The relationship between the three people is not yet known.
